5 Weeks Early! You were not due till 02/20/82, so when my labor started, I waited. When I finally got to the hospital, you were born 20 minutes later! Daddy barely had time to get his hospital gown on! Since you were premature, you were not breathing well and you were put in a preemie incubator, even though you weighed 6 lbs, 4 oz. But you fought to breath and pulled the IV's out of your little arm and by the time I went home from the hospital, 3 days later, you went with me! |

You were little at birth, but grew quite porky the first year! The dr told me to nurse you whenever you wanted, and you wanted to nurse almost every 2 hours! You also loved sucking your thumb, both of them! This was a habit you had till you were 7 years old. It was very hard for you to give it up. We succeeded by putting scotch tape on your thumb, which reminded you to pull it out of your mouth. You were very cute. Charming even at that young age. You won over the hearts of all who met you. Your big sister Erin was your best friend, a little mommy to you. She made you laugh a lot, and you loved our dog, Grover, too! |

You were very bright, a fast talker, sentences by 15 months. Your brain was thinking faster than your mouth and at 3 years old you started to stutter. It really upset me, but the dr said you would ougrow it, which you did! You were so happy when you got a little brother, but sometimes jealous, too! Once you ordered me to "put that baby down and get me a drink of milk!" Another time you thought it was so funny to see Chris's arms and legs moving frantically while you held his blanket over his face so he couldn't breathe! I needed to remember that you were still a baby yourself! |

You were young and innocent. Your big sister was always telling you to do things that got you in trouble! When you got punished, she opened her arms wide and said "Come to Sissy"! You would always run into her arms! |

We were having a rock wall built at our house on Davis Avenue, so all the rocks in the yard were stirred up. As Dad and I sat at Bonnie's house next door, I heard "Mommy, Help". We ran to the yard and there you were 1/2 way under the hugest rock in the yard. Daddy's adrenaline helped him lift it easily and thank the Lord you were fine! It could have killed you.
You were a funny little kid. Aunt Susan likes to tell the story of you and Erin going to her mom's house down the road. Her Aunt Judy said, "UH-OH, someone brought mud in the house". You quickly said, "Must have been me!" They laugh whenever they tell that story! |

You got very mad at your teacher because she called you Charles. You insisted your name was Chuckie. She said she would compromise. If you wrote Charles on your paper, she would call you Chuckie! |
